A very unique setting for travelers visiting Ladakh, Panamik is a sulphur hot spring located at a distance of 140 kilometers from Leh city. Interestingly, Panamik hot springs lie on the way to the highest battlefield on earth- Siachen Glacier. Since the village of Panamik lies close to a sensitive international border, tourists require a permit to visit the sulphur hot springs. The Panamik village is also the starting point of a very interesting trek that leads to Ensa Monastery- a 250 year old Gompa famous for its Buddhist murals and paintings.
