A world famous Monastery of the Drukpa Lineage, the Kardang Monastery is a blissful place of worship located in the village of Kardang in the Lahaul and Spiti District. Along with a huge library of Buddhist literature that goes back more than 800 years ago, Kardang Monastery also had a good collection of fine thankas and musical instruments such as lutes, drums, horns, as well as weapons from old artilleries and weapon stashes.
